Comrade Kevin Malina is a founding member of VFW Post 12223 in Montgomery, Texas, and currently serves as the Post Quartermaster. He was elected to this position when the Post was officially established on May 25, 2024. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the Post’s financial operations and helping guide the continued growth and success of the organization.
Comrade Malina enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2000 and honorably served his country until 2004. During his military service, he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Military Policeman. His service during this deployment earned him eligibility for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Throughout his time in the Marine Corps, Comrade Malina demonstrated dedication, professionalism, and commitment to mission accomplishment. His personal and unit awards include the Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
Today, Comrade Malina remains committed to serving fellow veterans and his community through his leadership and involvement with VFW Post 12223.
