Maria Keenmon joined VFW Post 12223 in Montgomery, Texas, in 2025.

She began her military service in 1970 when she enlisted in the United States Air Force. She honorably served until 1975, completing her enlistment with an Honorable Discharge.

Ms. Keenmon earned her eligibility for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars in 1972 while serving in Thailand during the Vietnam War as a Procurement Specialist.

During her service in the U.S. Air Force, her awards and decorations included the National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal.

Through her membership in VFW Post 12223, Ms. Keenmon continues to support the mission of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the veteran community.
